Ovarian Cancer occurs in 1 in 69 women, at ANY age. Increasing age and personal or family history of breast cancer, colon or ovarian cancer increases risk. Most women are diagnosed when the chance of survival for 5 years is about 30%. Early detection can improve survival rate to 93%. Symptoms are subtle, persistent, and usually increase over time. A Pap smear detects cervical cancer. It is NOT a test for ovarian cancer.
Symptoms: Bloating, Pelvic or abdominal pain, Difficulty eating or feeling full quickly, Urinary symptoms(urgency or frequency). Several other symptoms may include: fatigue, indigestion, back pain, pain with intercourse, constipation and menstrual irregularities.
